Everything you need to know about booking an event at Sauvage

What does it cost to hire the space?

All prices include 21% VAT and are for a single booking slot. Multi-day bookings are available at different rates; ask in the chat for a quote. Book more rooms, pay less: multi-room bundle discounts apply automatically. Room rental only, not including add-ons, event cleanup, or optional extras.

* The Cave is a host-led space: a Sauvage host is present for the full duration. The host fee (€35/hr per person) is a separate line item. The default 7-hour half-day = €245. Drag the slider above to see how other durations affect the total. The host may waive this fee in certain cases.

Deposit is fully refundable after the event if the space is left in good order. Balance due on or before the event date. Tier 3 deposit (€250) applies to multi-day bookings of 7+ slots, or any multi-day booking that includes the Kitchen.

Can I host a birthday party at Sauvage?

Yes! Sauvage is perfect for birthday celebrations. Our flexible space accommodates intimate gatherings or larger parties. We can host dinners, cocktail parties, dancing, and more. Our team helps customize the experience for your celebration.

What's the maximum capacity for an event?

Sauvage can accommodate up to 30 guests comfortably in our main space. For larger events, we can arrange multiple configurations. Contact us to discuss your group size and we'll find the perfect setup.

Do you provide catering for events?

Our café serves excellent natural wine, specialty coffee, and light bites. For full catering services, we work with a network of trusted partners in Amsterdam and can customize menus based on your preferences and budget. You're also welcome to bring your own food. If you'd like to use our kitchen appliances, there is a kitchen use rental fee. Let us know your catering preferences when booking!

How far in advance do I need to book?

We recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance for the best availability. However, we can accommodate last-minute bookings depending on the calendar. Use our chatbot to check availability and book instantly.

What's included in a booking?

A deposit secures your date and time. You get exclusive use of your booked room or rooms, tables and seating, ambient lighting, music system, and our team's support. Additional services (catering, special setup, DJ) can be added based on your needs.

Will my event have the whole venue to itself?

Not necessarily — and that's by design. Sauvage is a community space, and bookings are by room. While your dinner is happening in the Entrance Room, a wine tasting might be running in the Cave, or the kitchen team might be at work next door. The rooms are physically distinct and designed to run in parallel without getting in each other's way. Most guests find the layered atmosphere adds to the experience rather than detracting from it. If you do need full exclusivity, booking all four rooms gives you the whole venue.

Is there a minimum spend or guest requirement?

No strict minimums. Our pricing is flexible and scales with your event. Whether you're celebrating with 5 friends or 30 people, we can work out terms that make sense for everyone.

Can I bring my own music or DJ?

Absolutely. We have a WiFi speaker that works perfectly for the intimate neighborhood vibe of the space. You can connect your own device and play directly, bring your own DJ, or we can recommend local DJs we've worked with. Let us know your music preferences when booking.

What are the opening hours?

Café: Open Wednesday-Sunday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Private Events: Available for booking up to 10:00 PM on weekdays and up to 11:00 PM on weekends. For special requests outside these hours, contact us directly at contact@selectionsauvage.nl.

Is Sauvage accessible for people with disabilities?

How do I book an event?

Click the "Book a Space" button anywhere on this site to open our booking chatbot. It takes 5 minutes to check availability, select your event type, dates, and guests, then pay a deposit. You'll receive confirmation and a Google Calendar invite with all the details.
