Sauvage

Sauvage is a cultural hub in the heart of Amsterdam · café, exhibition space, event venue, and the home of natural wine.

Multi-Purpose
Culture Center

A shape-shifting space in Amsterdam West. Part gallery, part café, part wine cave, part stage, part whatever the night demands. The furniture moves. The walls change. The natural wines are alive and so is everything that happens around them.

Morning coffee becomes an afternoon exhibition becomes an evening of live music becomes a late-night glass of something unfiltered.

Pondering

Rik Dijkhuizen · Photography, Installation & Sculpture

What does it mean to be seen, yet not fully legible? Pondering brings together a selection of works from Rik Dijkhuizen's ongoing practice, centred on mental health as something shaped not only by private experience, but by the social, institutional, and cultural structures that condition how vulnerability is perceived, managed, or concealed.

At the heart of the exhibition is a new self-portrait installed behind a semi-transparent medical privacy screen - a work that holds the tension between exposure and withdrawal, care and control, visibility and the difficulty of being truly understood. Alongside it, earlier works examine anxiety, stigma, and the architecture of confinement across photography, installation, and research-based practice.

Rather than offering resolution, Pondering stays with uncertainty - inviting visitors into spaces where emotional life is continuously negotiated.
